Bearing Number Lookup

Comprehensive lookup for metric rolling bearings: deep groove ball, tapered roller, cylindrical roller. Retrieve inner/outer diameter, width, dynamic & static load ratings (C / C₀) from standard bearing numbers. Data sourced from ISO 15, SKF, NSK, and FAG engineering manuals.

Supports ISO metric series: 60,62,63,68,69, 302,303,322, NU,NJ, 511.. . Suffixes like 2RS, ZZ, C3 are ignored.
Quick examples:

Client‑side lookup: All bearing data is stored locally. No external API — your entries stay private.
Disclaimer: Data for reference only. Critical applications must verify with original manufacturer specifications. Inferred values are approximate.

Expanded database: 120+ bearings including deep groove (60,62,63,68,69), tapered roller (302,303,322), cylindrical roller (NU,NJ), and thrust ball (51100 series). Load ratings from SKF/NSK.

Series Example d (mm) D (mm) Width (mm) Weight (kg)
62 series 6214 70 125 24 1.08
63 series 6314 70 150 35 2.60
69 series 6912 60 85 13 0.28
Tapered roller 32214 70 125 31 1.45
Thrust ball 51104 20 35 10 0.05
Common bearing suffixes (dimensions unchanged)
2RS – Rubber seals both sides
ZZ / 2Z – Metal shields
C3 – Increased radial clearance
C4 – Larger clearance
P5 / P6 – Precision classes
DU / DDU – Contact seals
TN9 – Nylon cage
VL0241 – Coated outer ring
Recommended shaft and housing fits (ISO)
  • Shaft rotation – Inner ring: j6, k6 (normal loads), m6 (heavy loads)
  • Stationary shaft – Inner ring: g6, h6
  • Housing rotation – Outer ring: J7, K7
  • Radial clearance – Normal (CN) for standard temps, C3 for higher speeds/temps
Frequent selection errors
  • ❌ Ignoring axial load capacity of deep groove ball bearings (limited).
  • ❌ Using C3 clearance in low-speed, high-precision applications (can cause noise).
  • ❌ Confusing dynamic load rating C with actual operating load.
  • ❌ Overlooking required minimum load for cylindrical rollers.

Expanded Bearing Database

Our lookup tool now includes over 80 commonly used metric bearings from series 60, 62, 63, 68, 69 (deep groove ball), 302, 303, 322 (tapered roller), and NU/NJ (cylindrical roller). The new interactive dropdown lets you browse all supported models and select instantly — no need to remember exact codes.

Bearing life rating (L₁₀): \( L_{10} = \left( \frac{C}{P} \right)^p \) million revolutions (p=3 for ball bearings, p=10/3 for rollers). Accurate C values are critical for durability in electric motors, gearboxes, and pumps.

How to use the dropdown selector

  • Click the ▼ arrow inside the input field to see the full list of supported bearing numbers.
  • Start typing — the dropdown will filter matches dynamically.
  • Select any bearing from the list to automatically populate the input and trigger a lookup.
  • You can still manually type any number; the tool will attempt to find or infer the bearing.
Bearing number Bore d (mm) Outer D (mm) Width B (mm) Type Dynamic C (kN)
6204 20 47 14 Deep groove ball 13.5
6305 25 62 17 Deep groove ball 23.4
6004 20 42 12 Deep groove ball 9.95
6208 40 80 18 Deep groove ball 29.1
6310 50 110 27 Deep groove ball 61.8
30206 30 62 17.25 Tapered roller 43.0
32212 60 110 29.75 Tapered roller 146
NU204 20 47 14 Cylindrical roller 28.0
Real-world application: conveyor drive shaft repair

A maintenance team needed to replace a worn bearing marked "6310" but could not read the full nameplate. Using this lookup, they instantly got d=50mm, D=110mm, width=27mm, and dynamic rating 61.8 kN. The tool helped them order the correct replacement (SKF 6310 C3), reducing downtime by 4 hours. The visual cross‑section also helped verify the fit with the shaft shoulder.

Understanding bearing suffixes (2RS, ZZ, C3, etc.)

Our lookup ignores suffixes to return base dimensions. However, these suffixes are crucial for actual selection: 2RS = rubber seals on both sides, ZZ = metal shields, C3 = increased radial clearance, P5/P6 = precision classes. Always match the original bearing’s suffix when replacing. The base dimensions remain identical across all variants.

Data authority: Dimensions comply with ISO 15:2017. Load ratings (C, C₀) from ISO 281:2007, cross-checked with SKF General Catalogue (pub. 10000/EN) and NSK Bearing Technical Handbook (CAT. No. E1102). All values are industry‑standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

60, 62, 63, 68, 69 series deep groove ball bearings (bore from 10mm up to 100mm); 302, 303, 322 tapered roller bearings; NU and NJ cylindrical roller bearings up to 70mm bore.

For bearings not in our explicit database, the tool uses estimation rules based on series and bore size. Those values are marked as "inferred". For critical designs, always verify with manufacturer datasheets.

Very old or special non‑metric series (inch, thin section) are not supported. Also, some customized numbers (e.g., 6204-2RS1/HC5) might not be recognized; remove suffixes and try again.
